This system will handle a complete range of business transactions including Import and Export Processing, Gate Activity, Equipment Management, Billing, EDI Support and Container Freight Station Management.
The computerization system is expected to increase efficiency and productivity through better ship, yard and rail planning, optimal utilization of labour and real-time monitoring of operations, equipment and yard space. This system will also enable Brindisi Terminal to achieve effective and real-time communication links through the EDI connections which will be established with the carriers using the port. These links are now considered to be a vital part of the total logistics management process.
