This strategy will however be conditioned by the development of internal demand (Central and South Italy), international demand (Freeport Terminal Malta p.l.c.'s trade, the Adriatic and the Balkans ) and the Brindisi Terminal's own internal development.
With increasing container traffic in the Mediterranean
and the potential of this development, Brindisi Terminal Italia S.p.A.
is expected to handle 30,000 TEUs in the year 2000 increasing to 150,000
in 2003 and rising to a further 350,000 by the year 2005.
